Mina "Ruth" Caponigro

Ruth Ledford Caponigro, 83, of Hopewell, passed away on Wednesday August 24, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Cora Lee Watson Ledford; her husband of 33 years, Rocco “Rocky” Caponigro Jr.; and her brother Glenn Ledford. She retired from Fort Lee as an executive secretary after many years of service, and was a member of the Memorial Chapel at Fort Lee. Ruth is survived by her step-daughter, Laura F. Burke; two grandchildren, Sean Burke and his wife, Tiffany, and Kristen E. Scuorzo and her husband Mark; three great-grandchildren, Julius Burke, Mikaela and Alexandra Scuorzo; cousins, Mary Hurt and her husband, Daryl, David Paul Ledford, Wanda Sue Ledford, Troy Ledford and his son, Brad, her special “boys” Robert and Kyle Atwater; extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 4pm to 6pm on Sunday August 28, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Monday August 29, 2016 at the Memorial Chapel on Fort Lee. A committal service will be held at 2pm on Monday August 29, 2016 in Appomattox Cemetery.
