Morris B. Crowder, Sr., 80, of Colonial Heights died Sunday, July 3, 2005 at Retreat Hospital. He was born in Petersburg, the son of the late William Oakes and Mary King Crowder. Mr. Crowder was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corp, World War II, 8th Air Force, was retired from E. I. Du Pont after 41 years of service, and also worked at J.T. Morriss & Son for several years. Mr. Crowder was a life long member of Memorial UMC and then became a member of Wesley UMC. He was a member of the Circus Fans Association of America and for many years he was very active in slow pitch softball in the Tri Cities Area. Preceded in death by William A. Crowder and Mildred C. Bowen and was the widower of Florence Wells Crowder. He is survived by two daughters Susan C. James and her husband Edward of Chesterfield, Crystal C. Kvasnicka and her husband Gary of Colonial Heights; one son Morris B. Crowder, Jr. of Colonial Heights; two grandchildren Kevin W. and Michelle A. Kvasnicka of Colonial Heights; his twin sister Mae C. Baker of Petersburg and a brother George W. Crowder of Colonial Heights. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Tuesday, July 5 from 7 to 8:30 P.M. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 A. M. Wednesday, July 6th in Southlawn Memorial Park.. There will be a procession leaving from the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service at 10:30 A. M.
