Morris Franklin Robertson

Morris Franklin “Rabbit” Robertson, 83, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017. He was born in Matoaca, VA and was the son of the late William V. and Doris Scott Robertson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William V. “Sonny” Robertson and Donald W. Robertson. Rabbit is survived by his wife, Patricia Elko Robertson; children, Sheila Robertson, Keith Robertson, Marcia Moneymaker, Calvin Shumate and Delmer “Rue” Shumate; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Rabbit graduated from Petersburg High School in 1952. He served in the Air Force from 1957 until 1961. Rabbit was a member of Petersburg Masonic Lodge No. 15 A.F. & A.M. He was a brick mason and homebuilder. Rabbit loved to fish and enjoyed his home on Lake Chesdin. A Masonic service with military honors to follow will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
