Moyra Bentley O'Neill

Moyra Bentley O’Neill, 84, of Hopewell Virginia, passed from this life in her home Friday, November 1, 2019.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Joseph O’Neill; her parents Thomas and Annie Bentley; daughter-in-law Treena O’Neill; and a great-grandchild, Kate Spede.
Moyra retired from the Hopewell school system after 20 years of dedicated service. She was the United States Army east-coast military wife of the year in 1973. She loved teaching, traveling, and her family. She was a gifted story teller and shared her joy with all that knew her.
She is survived by her children, James F. O’Neill, Thomas R. O’Neill (Jennifer), Catherine A. Brown, Brian K. O’Neill (Natalie) and Paul O’Neill (Sarah); grandchildren, Clinton, Marcus, Aimee, Tiffany, Derek, Ronnie, Jessica, Joshua, Megan and Coleman; great-grandchildren, Bryanna, Coby, Caden, Landon, and Emma; great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Sophia; brother, Dr. Roy Bentley (Joan); sister, Myrtle Vess (Leonard); niece, Frances Eggleston (Keith); nephew, Michael Vess (Michelle), as well as numerous extended family and friends in Belfast,N.Ireland & Canada.

The family will receive friends, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 W. Broadway, Hopewell, VA., where a service will be held at 2:30 p.m. followed by internment at Appomattox Cemetery, Hopewell, Virginia
