Myra Elizabeth Phelps Haire

Myra Elizabeth Phelps Haire, 75, of Dinwiddie, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015. Born in Crewe, VA, she was the daughter of the late Everett Durwood and Alma Elizabeth Spiers Phelps. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas D. Phelps. Mrs. Haire retired after 33 years of dedicated service as a nurse in the office of Dr. Alvin Cohen. She was a member of West End Baptist Church and enjoyed many trips to Myrtle Beach with her husband. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles H. Haire, Sr.; daughter, Terri Haire Pryor and husband, Kevin; son, Charles H. Haire, Jr. and wife, Joey; grandchildren, Benjamin R. Pryor, Meagan H. Wall, Joshua D. Haire, and Raven H. Willaman, six great-grandchildren; sister, Donna P. Wicks and husband, Mike; brother, Rudy Phelps and wife, Patricia; and sister-in-law, Betty R. Phelps. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at West End Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Mark Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 4600 Cox Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
