NANCY SHERRIE DOUGLAS ARMBRISTER, age 74, died on March 13, 2010 in Marion, VA. She was raised in Colonial Heights, VA, earned a Nursing degree from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis on poetry, from Emory & Henry College. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles & Rachel Douglas of Colonial Heights, VA and her brother Stewart Douglas of Virginia Beach, VA.
She is survived by four children Valerie Evans (and her husband Roy), Victor Armbrister, Christopher Armbrister (and his wife Glenda) & Karen Houck. Five grandchildren Rachel Evans, Creed Evans, Henry Evans, Lakyn Renuso (and her husband Carlos) and Billie Jean Houck. And one great-grandchild to be, Victor Oscar Renuso.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 15, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Neville Mozingo officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral Services will also be held Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss Funeral Home of Petersburg, VA with burial to follow in Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at J.T. Morriss Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com . Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and J.T. Morris Funeral Home are serving the Armbrister Family.
