Nancy Lampman Devers

Nancy Lampman Devers, 77, of Chester, VA, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019. Born in Hopewell, VA, she was the daughter of Howard Roy Lampman and Mary (Wray) Bowman Baxley. She was also preceded in death by her two stepfathers, Gilbert W. Bowman Sr., William H. Baxley Sr., and her brother, Gilbert Warren Bowman Jr. She graduated from Hopewell High School in 1961 and worked as an LPN at John Randolph Hospital before moving on to a rewarding second career at Dupont Elementary School where she retired after 20 years. Nancy enjoyed spending time with loved ones, decorating wedding cakes, and celebrating her favorite holiday, Christmas, by spoiling her family and baking tons of her famous chocolate chip cookies. Nancy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Alfred P. Devers; her son, John Devers (Christina), stepson, Michael Devers (Arlene), brother, Donald Bowman (Amanda), grandchildren, Emily, Jax and Annabelle; special nieces, Debi and Becki, their mother, Bobbie; as well as many stepchildren, step-grandchildren and additional extended family.
