Nancy Mayton Fisher, 56, of Dinwiddie County, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Margie Rinker Mayton and Joseph Nelson Mayton, Sr. She worked as a 911 Dispatcher for Dinwiddie County Public Safety before her courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her step-son, Dustin Allen Fisher. She is survived by her husband, Claiborne J. Fisher; a daughter, Tammy Gay Taylor (Albert Schmitt) of Hopewell; sisters, Donna J. Mayton and Wanda M. Gill (Curtis); brother, Joseph N. Mayton, Jr. all of Dinwiddie; niece, Dr. Shannon G. Bowman (Bert) of Colonial Heights; nephews, J. Nelson Mayton, III and Curtis D. Gill (April) all of Dinwiddie; sisters-in-law, Patsy Christopher and Betty Coleman (Leonard) of Dinwiddie, Katherine â??Kittyâ? Heller (Karl) of Ocala, FL and Jo Carol Mayton of Chesterfield; brothers-in-law, A. G. Fisher of Roxboro, NC and James C. Fisher of Chester; two great-nieces, two great-nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also survived by her two Jack Russell Terriers, Lucy and Harley. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Pastor Carl Weaver officiating.
