Nancy Kane

Nancy Lee Kane was born on March 15, 1939 in Orange County, CA. Her family later relocated to Gridley, CA where she attended Gridley High School. After graduating she relocated to Sacramento, CA where she went to work for the Civil Service as a secretary. Her job allowed her to travel which she loved to do. She was married in 1963 to Philip Kane Jr., and had 2 children, Gregory Kane and Katrina Kane-Drummond.

Amongst her many interests, she loved to sew for her family, and often made matching outfits for herself and her Daughter. Her other love was cooking. She loved to cook for her family and friends, and enjoyed having friends over for dinner.

After her Daughter joined the Army, she would later relocate to Reno, NV to be near her Son, Daughter-in-law and Grandchildren. After retiring she worked for several different retailers to keep busy, and even became a manicurist and did nails for the performers in the casinos.

Nancy was a strong, independent woman who loved her family and friends dearly, and would do anything for them. She always placed otherâ??s needs before her own, to ensure they were always taken care of.

Her last 6 months were spent with her Daughter and Son-in-law who brought her to VA to take care of her and comfort her during her long and hard battle with cancer. She passed away on March 20, 2012 in the comfort of her family at home. You will be missed dearly, and remain in our hearts forever. We love you, from your family.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31st at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
