Nancy Craven Stacy, 83, of Chester, passed away on December 21, 2013. Born in Hopewell, VA she was the daughter of the late James and Lulu Mason Craven; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby G. Stacy; three brothers, Earl, James and Gene “Buckaroo” Craven; and three sisters, Ethel Jones, Mildred DeWolfe and Betty Adams. Mrs. Stacy retired from the Chesterfield County Public School System after 34 years of service where she taught at Enon, C.E. Curtis and C.C. Wells Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Hopewell Church of the Brethren, where she played the organ, was in The Brethren Sounds Quartet, and the Sunshine Sisters. She had many loves in her life, but special was the apple of her eye, son Scott, her two grandchildren, Brody and Brandi, her church and bingo. Nancy is survived by her son, Scott C. Stacy and wife, Bobbie; two grandchildren, Brody and Brandi Stacy; two nieces, Judy Cutrona and Nancy Lu Ingalsbe and husband, Terry; a nephew, Billy Rook and wife, Mary Lou; great nephews and niece; devoted lifelong friend, Mary Fox; and her adopted daughter, Judy Crocker. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Henrico Doctors Hospital at the Forest Campus for their devoted special care of Nancy. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Wayne Pennington, officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester, VA.
