Nannie Louise Guthrie, 91, of Dinwiddie County, died Monday August 13, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband John P. Guthrie and parents Rufus A. and Lottie Mae Eggleston Waddell, two sisters Virginia Staples and Mary Mann, three brothers Fred Waddell, Carl Waddell and Franklin Waddell. Nannie was a lifetime member of the former Third Presbyterian church and current member of Second Presbyterian church; she loved singing in the choir. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved her flowers. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Louise Horne of Prince George and Brenda K. Williams and husband, Dennis of Colonial Heights; a son, John M. Guthrie and friend, Edith Williams of Dinwiddie; three sisters, Carrie Ball, Pauline Leigh and Patricia Vaughan; one brother, Harry Lee Waddell; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Barbara Lang and Louise Dayvault. Special thanks to the staff at Golden Living for their dedicated service. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, August 17, 2012 with Rev. Dr. Louis Williams and Rev. Dr. Daniel Hale officiating at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
