Nathaniel Hartwell King, Jr., 87, of Prince George, died January 29, 2011. He was the son of the late Nathaniel Hartwell King, Sr. and Delia Spieres. He was preceded in death by a daughter Virginia Carol King Zaharek. He was an U.S. Army veteran and the co-owner of Triangle Exxon and Grocery for over 30 years, and a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Carson, VA. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Erma D. King; son, Nathaniel H. King, III and wife, Mary Beth; daughter, Valerie King Joyner and husband, Luther, III; six grandchildren, Natalie King Baker and husband, David L., Jr., April Joyner Hoover and husband, David, Luther Joyner, IV and wife, Julie, Frank Zaharek, III, Christopher Zaharek and wife, Mary and Nathan Zaharek; ten great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Frank Zaharek, II; sister-in-law, Kitty Barnes King; numerous nieces and nephews; special thanks to his caregivers, Teresa Cox, Keeley Birdsong, Gracie Pierce, and Faye Mattox. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 7, 2011 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
