Natividad Cordero-Cruz, 84, of Hopewell passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021. Born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Zacaria and Matilde Cordero-Cruz, and was also preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Sara Biggs Cordero-Cruz. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist in Petersburg, VA. After over 17 years of dedicated service to his beloved country, Natividad retired from the United States Army as a Sergeant First Class, having served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He very much enjoyed playing dominoes and cooking, but mostly cherished his time spent with his adoring family. He is survived by his sons, Natividad, Jr., Rafael, Enrique; stepdaughter, Linda Bowling; siblings, Nicolas, Patricio, Petra, Esther, Polly; grandchildren, Javier, Brenda, Cynthia, Anthony, Luis, Ariel, Rafael, Jr., Lissette, Travis, Hunter; and other extended family members and many friends. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2021 in Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia Court House, VA. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Homes, 3050 W Hundred Rd, Chester, VA 23831, and will have a brief remembrance service during this visitation period led by Pastor Craig Buxton.
