Nelson Edwood Brooks

Nelson Edwood Brooks, 70, of Chester, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mary Brooks; his sister, Veronica Brooks; and his brother, Floyd Brooks, Jr.

Nelson was employed by Phillip Morris and he also held a variety of jobs throughout the years, including owning his own business. He was extremely hard working, passionate, and independent. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, staying active, and watching Western movies. Nelson was a devoted father figure to many, especially to his nieces. He was also a member of Second Baptist Church in Chester. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Nelson is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Nancy Brooks; his nieces, Nicole Brooks and Jacqueline Washington (Antoine); great-niece, Zakiyah Brooks; great-nephew, Zakee Brooks; and a host of extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
