Nelson Miles Huber, Jr., 83, a resident of Disputanta, Va. and husband of the late Marian Holdsworth Huber, died Monday, March 12, 2007. Born June 20, 1923 in Surry County, he was a son of the late Nelson Miles Huber and Myra Johnson Pierce. He had retired from the Chesterfield plant of Allied Chemical after 23 years. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Disputanta, an active member of the Waverly Ruritan Club, and a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the England-Parsons American Legion Post #191 in Waverly.
Mr. Huber is survived by his daughter Anne Huber and husband, Tom Piper, of The Woodlands, TX; five grandchildren, Philip Piper, Grace Piper, Sarah Piper, Miles Huber, and Hannah Huber; daughter-in-law, Vicki Huber; two half-sisters, Virginia Brockwell and Mildred Hylton; and two half-brothers, Roy Huber and Ralph Huber. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his son, Dennis Huber; two brothers, Lawrence Huber and Edwin Huber; and a sister, Mary Lane.
Funeral services will be held at the Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Homes, Wakefield, on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Bert Cloud officiating. Burial with military rites will be held in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund of Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O.
