Nevanon Morris

Nevanon Smiley Morris, 80, of Prince George, passed on August 22, 2011. Neva was born on March 23, 1931 to Mary E. Smiley in Hattiesburg, MS. She was the devoted and loving wife of 49 years to Billy R. Morris who passed in 2001, and is also predeceased by her sisters Anna Laura Ford, Mary Brown and granddaughter Pamela L. Glass. Until her extended illness, she was a member of Monumental Baptist Church in Petersburg, VA. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra M. Kanusek and husband, James of Prince George and Linda D. Glass and husband, Donnie of Dinwiddie; four grandchildren, Sarah Kanusek-Henshaw and husband, Paul of Dinwiddie, David R. Glass and wife, Marie of Dinwiddie, Lauren K. Moneymaker and husband, Kenny of Fairfax, and Chris R. Glass of Dinwiddie; great grandson, Jackson Wayne Morris Henshaw; nephew, Allen Turner and wife, Ann their children, Madalyn and Catherine. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the building fund of Monumental Baptist Church or Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.
