Newton Maxie "Cocky" Georgel, Jr.

Newton Maxie “Cocky” Georgel, Jr., 75, of Powhatan passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Born in Petersburg, VA he was the son of the late Newton M. Georgel, Sr. and Julia E. Crowder Miles. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Bunner. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Georgel; sons, Christopher Todd Wilson Georgel and Newton Maxie “Trip” Georgel, III. and his wife, Amy; grandchildren, Randal Veserat, Josephine Veserat, Logan Georgel and Brooke Georgel; and sisters, Mary Bunner, June Georgel and Emma Franklin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
