Our loving "Shining Star" Norma Jean Yeatts, of Petersburg, moved to Heaven on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Norma was preceded by her devoted father, Linwood Thomas Yeatts; sister, Natalie Yeatts Crepps; niece, Harley Crepps; devoted friend, Kent Mallory, Jr.; grandparents, Merriwell and Dean Yeatts Elmer, and Ethel Butcher.
Norma is survived by her loving mother, Elaine Yeatts; sisters, Laura Yeatts, and Kathy Yeatts Schumm (John); nieces, Mallory Horne, Brittany Crepps, and Kati Schumm Jones (Tyler); great-nieces, Ryleigh T. Yeatts, CJ Schumm, and Logan B. Schumm; nephews, Joshua Schumm (Savannah), and JT Schumm; aunts, Ruby Lewis (Herbert), Ann Morris (Dale), and Phyllis Lanning (Wade).
Norma was the true meaning of love. She loved her fur baby "Miss Kitty" and treated her like she was her child. Those who knew Norma will never forget her sweet and kind ways. She worked at Southside Sheltered Workshop for 27 years. Norma was a graduate of Dinwiddie County High School.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at Christ & Grace Episcopal Church at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 28, 2022 with the Rev. Dr. Mary Thorpe officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
