With great sadness, the family of Norman “Bill” Bryant announces that he went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2017 at his home in Midlothian, VA. Bill was born the 11th child of 14 on November 18, 1934 and is preceded in death by his mother and father, Ollie Grant and Effie Jane Sharpe Bryant, and 12 of his siblings. He is survived in love by his wife Doris Slough Bryant “Babe” of almost 65 years. The love of family is something he taught every generation after him; from his daughters: Deborah (Ed - deceased), Cindy (Wayne), and Vicki (Jack), his grandchildren: Pennie (Donald), Trae (Stephanie), Hollie (Scott), Michael (Tricia) and Dain (Rebekah), right down to his great-grandchildren: Josh, Chase, Kelsie, Penny Lane, Gavin, Kassidy, Grant, Justin, Reed, Jonathan, and Jenna. Their home is often filled with food, fun, laughter and the family he held dear. He is also survived by his sister, Sarah Bryant Wilhelm. Bill retired from Philip Morris after 23 years of service. He and Babe enjoyed living on the west coast of Florida for the next 10 years before returning to the Richmond area. He was a godly man and his goal in life was to show the love of Christ to others by helping where he saw a need and to witness about God’s love at every opportunity. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home at 3050 West Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831. Funeral services will also be held at J.T. Morriss Funeral Home Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11:00 am followed by a short graveside service at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA.
