Norman Riggs

Norman W. Riggs, 74 of Hopewell died Wednesday June 8, 2005. He was born February 12, 1931 in Dailey, W. VA son of the late Elijah L. and Nora J. Barb Riggs. He was preceded in death by one daughter Beverly D. Riggs, son-in-law Albert Snyder, three brothers and one sister. Norman was a retired Mechanic for Greyhound. He is survived by his wife of 48 years of marriage Rachel Geraldine Riggs; four daughters, Patricia Langlois and husband Norman of Dinwiddie Co.; Charlotte Shutt and husband James Shutt, Jr. of Prince George; Wilma Jarvis and husband Eugene of Dinwiddie; Darlene Fisher and husband David of Illinois; two sons, Wallace Riggs and wife Donna of Hopewell; Denver Riggs and wife Robin of Prince George; brother, Lonnie Riggs and Nancy of Buffalo, NY; fourteen grandchildren; one step-grandchild; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 am Monday, June 13, 2005 in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Interment will follow in Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia Co., VA at 1:00 pm.. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
