Odie Parker

Odie Harvey Parker , 80, of Hopewell, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 in Johnston-Willis Medical Center. Mr. Parker was born in Nash County, NC and was a resident of Hopewell for most of his life. He was a retired engineer with Allied Chemical .and a member of South Hopewell Church of God. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents, Dock and Eva Gardner Parker. Surviving are his wife, Elsie Moss Parker of Hopewell, two daughters, Edith P. Winters and Pamela Parker, both of Hopewell, a son, Bert Parker and wife, Sandra, of Chester, a brother, Randolph Parker and wife, Laura, of Chesapeake, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 7, 2010 from 2-4 PM at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 8, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Thurman Collier, pastor of South Hopewell Church Of God, officiating.
