Olga Wolosuk Newton, 93, passed away on June 19, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Wolosuk and Mary Stanko; spouse, Herbert Newton; daughters, Robin and Kim; granddaughter, Rachel; and brothers, Alex, Nick, and Peter Wolosuk. Olga was a longtime resident of Virginia, proud of her Russian heritage and known for her fierce independence, strong opinions, and meticulous nature. She was a faithful wife, devoted mother, and loved her family. Olga was a member of the Yale Seventh Day Adventist Church and while holding a variety of positions throughout life, most enjoyed her time volunteering at John Randolph Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and was incredibly skilled with knitting and crochet needles. When physically able, she loved walking and could be seen each morning making the rounds through her neighborhood. Olga is survived by her sisters-in-law, Erna Wolosuk and Alice Wolosuk Thomas; grandchildren, Scott and Stacy; three great grandchildren; a handful of nieces and nephews; and amazing neighbors Wade and Phyllis Lanning, to whom our family is eternally grateful. Interment will be private with a memorial service at a later date.
