Oliver James Martin, Jr.

Oliver James "Jimmy" Martin, Jr., 73, of Colonial Heights, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 14, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver James, Sr.; daughter, Jina Rae Martin; sisters, Patricia Mason, Janet Riggs, and Adrianne Haynes; and niece, Tammy Lynn Cromer. After obtaining his high school diploma, Jimmy joined the United States Army and served his country honorably in Vietnam. After returning from the war, Jimmy worked as a heavy equipment operator. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting a variety of things. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jimmy is survived by his mother, Frances Martin; son, Oliver "Jesse" Martin III; sister, Vicki M. Cromer; brothers, Gary D. Martin (Alice), Francis P. Martin (Alison), Robin E. Martin (Kathy), and Paul A. Martin (Wendy); numerous nieces and nephews; loving companion, Cleopatra, the kitty; and special friends, Olivia Baker and William "Pokey" Clements (Kim).
