Onnley Rice

Onnley Forest “Sam” Rice,76, of Hopewell, Va. died, Wednesday, November 10, 2004 in John Randolph Medical. He was born in Marshall, NC and had been a resident of Hopewell for the past 30 years. Mr. Rice served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a self employed tree cutter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Dora Norton Rice, a brother, Jimmy Rice and a sister, Willie Wanda Rice. Surviving are three sisters, Sally R. Rogers of Sylmar, CA., Lula R. Mundy and Mary R. Payne, both of Asheville, NC. two brothers, Odus Rice and Clayton Rice both of Hopewell, Pastor Billy J. Rice, Sr. of Glen Alpine, NC and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Friday, November 12, 2004 in Forest Lawn Cemetery Asheville, NC. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
