Opal Clinard Elliott, 86 of Prince George County, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004. She was always active in her church and the Petersburg Baptist Association. She was the daughter of the late Fred H. and Margaret Jester Clinard. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first two husbands Merle Franklin Addison, Sr. and Oakley Henry Spain; son-in-law, Roy S. Cox, Sr. She is survived by her husband, George Wilson Elliott; two daughters, Betty A. Cox and Rose A. Humphries (J.W.); son, Merle F. Addison, Jr. (Gloria); brothers, F. Horace Clinard of Hickory, NC.; and Ralph L. Clinard of Merritt Island, FL., sisters, Margaret C. Carrigan and Doris C. Weddington both of Mooresville, NC.; six grandchildren, Roy S. Cox, Jr., Cindy L. Cox, Elizabeth “Penny” Hollis, John Wesley Humphries, III, Steven “Randy” Cox and Bobbi Jo Humphries; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends tonight from 7-8:30 PM at the funeral home.
