Orville Lucas

Orville Christopher Lucas, age 78, of Chesterfield, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 14, 2011. He was born in Waynesboro, VA, the son of the late Ed Lee and Louise Harlow Lucas. Mr. Lucas was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Lucas, and a granddaughter, Jessica Lucas. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War. Mr. Lucas was a retiree of Reynolds Metal, and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, Chesterfield. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret H. Lucas; brother, Gerald L. Lucas (Mary); sons, Jerry W. Lucas (Young-I), James E. Lucas (Carol), and Rickey L. Lucas (Brenda); six grandchildren, Renee Hicks (Duri-Kyi), Christopher Lucas, Tracy Wilner (Chris), Heather Lucas, Carmen Conrad (Richard), and Carl Adamez; eight great-grandchildren, Karell and Malachi Lucas- Hicks, Leanna Wilner, and Gillian, Adam, Benjamin, Lilly, and Lindsey Conrad; a nephew, Gerald Lucas (Loraine); and other extended family. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Chesterfield chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home on Monday, July 18, at 11 a.m., with interment afterwards in the Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
