Otis Montel Gettings

Gettings, Otis Montel, 89, of Chesterfield, Virginia, was called home on Saturday, December 13, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents William Henry and Rosa Lee Gettings; two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret J. Gettings; his daughters, Diane King and husband Jimmy, Tammy Hanchey and husband David; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Herman M. Getting,; a sister Doris Hambright; and numerous nieces and nephews. Otis was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving aboard the USS Hornet in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morris and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at J. T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home Chester Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
