Patricia “Pat” Stout Bishop, 69 ,of Church Road, Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 21st, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Roanoke, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late George and Bernice Stout. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roger “Tootie” Bishop; son, Troy Bishop; daughter, Whitney Ruddick and husband, Chris; granddaughters Haley, Berkley, and Nataley Ruddick; siblings Doris Hodge (Mike), Joseph Stout (Kay), and Becky Chiaramida (Joe); as well as other extended family and many special friends. Pat graduated from Thomas Dale High School in 1969 and later obtained her degree from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. She worked at Safeway Store in Dinwiddie for 10 years and for the IRS in Richmond for the next 25 years. Pat was an active member of Central Baptist Church where she served as a deacon and member of the choir, as well as the Moonshine Women’s Ministry Group. She loved spending time with her family, especially on their annual beach trips, and always went above and beyond to care for those she loved. She was dedicated to being the best “Ganna” to her three granddaughters and spoiled them endlessly. In her free time, Pat thoroughly enjoyed reading books, cross stitching, and volunteering to help others within her community. Pat was a deeply devoted Christian who showed compassion and kindness to all people. She was a wonderful being and her person cannot merely be described in words.
Her family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Tyler’s Retreat at Iron Bridge for caring for Pat and being supportive of her family over the past 4 years. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Central Baptist Church, 6405 Courthouse Road, Church Road, Va. 23833.
