Patricia Hoffert

Patricia Elizabeth Hoffert, 77, died April 25, 2011 surrounded by her family at St. Maryâ??s Hospital in Richmond. Patricia was born August 13, 1933 in Washington, D.C. She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Hoffert, III; her five children, Margaret Anne Cable, wife of Jerry Cable, Charles E. Hoffert IV, husband of Michelle McFadden, Irene Patricia Crofford, wife of Cliff Crofford, Mary Lorraine Hom, wife of Mark Hom, and Roy Willis Lanham Hoffert, husband of Sharon Bryant Hoffert. Patricia is also the proud grandmother of five grandsons and five granddaughters. Patricia graduated from Dunbarton College of the Holy Cross in 1955 and earned her Masterâ??s Degree from Michigan State University. In addition to being a beautiful and loving wife, mother, and homemaker, Patricia found time participate in many outside activities. She served as an Administrative Assistant for the Virginia State Senate, as President of the Fort Leeâ??s Officers Wives Club, President of the local NARFE chapter, President of The Ancient Order of Hibernians, President of The St Augustineâ??s Womenâ??s Guild and a board member of The St Maryâ??s Hospital Patient Satisfaction Committee. She was also active in her church teaching catechism. Throughout her life, Patricia was a devote Catholic and very proud of her Irish Heritage. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an accomplished quilter and gardener. She will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 29, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Chester chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, April 30, at 11 a.m. in the St. Augustineâ??s Catholic Church, Richmond, VA, with interment afterwards in the Dale Memorial Park, Chesterfield, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Sisters of the Holy Cross, 407 Bertrand Hall, Notre Dame, Indiana, 46556.
