Patricia Ruth Keller, 72, of McKenney, VA, was called home on November 26, 2023. Born in Corvallis, OR, she was raised in Stevensville, MI, by her late parents, Joseph and Verda Cox before moving to the Tri-Cities area in the 1970s. She was a loving mother and a devoted friend whose door was always open to those in need, but who could be ferocious in her defense of loved ones. She was a devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ in whose arms she now rests. Patricia's cooking was learned at the feet of her Arkansas grandmother and it was legendary, as was her sense of humor. A favorite story involved a rogue shopping cart, loaded with recently bought groceries, getting away from her in a grocery store parking lot. It careened to the end of the lot before flipping over a curb sending groceries flying down a weed covered hill and into the street below. She did not laugh at the time, but she did eventually and for many years after. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Keller of McKenney, Virginia. She is survived by a son, Jacques Vest and his wife Daniela of Pennsylvania; son, Brandon Vest of Petersburg; three sisters, Lisa Heaton and Terry McMahon of Michigan and Sandra Johnson of Colorado; two brothers, Darin and Jerry Cox of Dinwiddie; cousins, Richard and Robert Bowden of Michigan; an aunt, Viva Willis of West Virginia; one grandson, Landon Vest of Pennsylvania; and numerous nephews and nieces. Additionally, she leaves behind dear friends Verda Falls of Colonial Heights, Naomi Piccolo of Bracey, Pamela Sherman of Dinwiddie, and Agnes Bartlett of Colonial Heights.
