Patricia Gail Jackson Lundy-Smith of 1128 Stainback Street, Petersburg, VA, entered eternal rest and peace on December 1, 2017. She was born July 14, 1942 in Lakeland, FL (Polk County) to the late Horace Smith Jackson of Tallahassee, FL (school teacher) and Ella M. Rivers of Daytona Beach, Florida (nurse in the Women’s Army Corps.) Patricia attended Delaware County Community College where she studied business administration. Upon arriving in Petersburg, Patricia worked at Moonshine Cleaners, Allied Chemical, and Brown & Williamson. After years of factory and medical work, Patricia retired due to her declining health. She was under the loving care of her children, Richard Anthony Lundy, Wendell T. Lundy, Sylvia Lundy, and Stacey Lundy. Pastor Russ Jurek of Edgehill Church of Christ, and a special friend and nurse, Angela Simms. Patricia enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and studying her Bible. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Archie Lee Smith; daughters, April, Sylvia, Sharon, and Valerie; sons, Richard Anthony Lundy, Wendell Tyrone Lundy, and Leon and Michael Lundy. She is also survived by her brother, Valdoster Lundy; sister, Lillie T. Lundy; her beloved grandchildren, Stacy Lorraine, Dewarren, Carroll, Tamara, Richard Jr., Shanna, Devonte, Lakeya and Tory; nephews, Jabar and Kayreign, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The Edgehill Church of Christ family, and a host of family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. John Clay and staff, and Courtney Robinson who she loved dearly for tailoring her clothing.
