Patricia Eubank Madison, left this world for her eternal home with the Lord on Friday, November 24, 2023. She was surrounded by family and the joyful sound of music.
Patricia was reunited in Heaven with her husband, Larry Woodford Madison, Sr.; and her eldest daughter, Melanie Madison Vent. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Katherine Irene Madison and "Mounira" Megan Ann Madison; her son, Larry Woodford Madison, Jr. (LisaMarie); and her three grandchildren, Heather, Ella, and Lucas Madison. After 40 years of loyal service as the Music Director of Trinity United Methodist Church and local piano teacher, she leaves behind a legacy of friends, family, and students.
Born to Earl and Irene Eubank of Lynch Station, VA, Patricia was the youngest of three sisters. She began playing the piano at a young age and went on to study music at Converse College in South Carolina. She often spoke fondly of her time at Converse and the weekly letters she received from her Aunt Aline (complete with a stick of Beech-Nut Gum!).
After college, she lived with her middle sister, Audrey, while teaching music at a school in Winchester, VA. It was there she met and began dating Larry Woodford Madison, Sr. They married six months after they met and were happily married for many years.
In 1983, she took up a position as the organist with a then small congregation at Trinity United Methodist Church. Over the years she grew into the role of Music Director and created a music program consisting of children, youth and adult choirs, youth and adult hand bell choirs, and a children's chime choir. She was also at the center of countless children's plays, vacation bible schools, and annual spring talent shows.
In addition to her role as Music Director, she taught piano lessons from her home to numerous students over the years. Her piano recitals were legendary, with a variety of confections that affectionately became known as "piano recital cookies" in the Madison household.
She is predeceased by her father, Earl Montival Eubank; her mother, Irene Wood Eubank; her husband, Larry Woodford Madison, Sr.; her daughter, Melanie Madison Vent; and her sisters, Bernice Eubank Brieger and Audrey Eubank Copes.
The viewing will take place at J.T. Morriss & Son - Chester Chapel from 6 pm to 8 pm, on Friday, December 1, 2023. The funeral will take place at Trinity United Methodist Church in Chesterfield, VA at 11 am, on Saturday, December 2, 2023, followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Park and a reception at Trinity United Methodist Church.
