Patricia Ann Poarch, 49, of Stony Creek, VA, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 after a courageous battle against breast cancer. With her family and her best friend, Joann Cook, surrounding her she went peacefully to be with the Lord. She was the wife of Wiley G. Poarch of Poarch Rd. in Stony Creek.
Born in Boston, MA she was the daughter of Mary Amero Lepine and the late Harry Lepine. Patricia moved to Stony Creek eight years ago to fulfill her lifelong dream of raising horses and living the peaceful country life. She worked as Shop Manager at Carterâ??s Towing and Repair in Stony Creek. Patty was a loyal, hard worker who always had a smile on her face.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her children, Patricia Harvey, Judy Brewington, Charles Dineen, Jonathan Davis, and Abby Cook; her siblings, Marvin Lepine, Charlotte Delph, Cindy McShea, Dawn MacMillan, and Laura Martin; eleven grandchildren, Jobbie Todd, Joshua Todd, Aneisha Canto, Zachary Oxendine, Carly Inman, Mark Dineen, Hailey Davis, Alicia Davis, Brianna Harvey, Cassidy Harvey, and baby Cook; twelve nieces and nephews; her former employer, Chester Carter; and the community of Stony Creek. The family wishes to thank the friends and community of Stony Creek and beyond for the support and love shown during Pattyâ??s illness and passing.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Readville Baptist Church, Sussex, with the Rev. Wilson Conwell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Patty Poarch Medical Relief Fund, Bank of Southside Virginia, Drawer A, Stony Creek, Virginia 23882, to assist the family with funeral costs.
