Paul William Brown, 70, of Chester, VA, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Born in Arlington, VA, he was the son of the late Edgar Wilson and Lavinia Rose Halliday Brown. He was a graduate of Yorktown High School and completed his education at John J. Pershing College/University of Nebraska. He was a retired partner of Atlantic Construction Fabrics. Mr. Brown was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he was a longtime Lay Leader, Sunday school teacher, and Mission Warrior. He was also an active member of the Gideons and treasured his visits to churches in the area. He had many hobbies and interests, including hunting, fishing, geneology, Civil War history, and reading murder mysteries and detective stories. He enjoyed traveling with members of his church family to England, Scotland, Boston, Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Woodstock, and Harpers Ferry. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren very much and vacationing with them at the beach. He is survived by his wife, Susanne B. Brown; son, Andrew E. Brown; daughter-in-law, Adriana Kay Ploeg; grandchildren, Jack Atlas Brown and Charlotte Alabama Brown; and sister, Joyce Anne Brown. Also dear to him were his beloved dogs, Chili Bean, Phoebe, Wendy, Dolly, Hallie, and Stella. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Teresa Keezel officiating.
