Obituary Paul Carter Jr. entered into eternal rest with our Lord on May 24, 2020.
Paul was born on October 14, 1950 to the late Paul Carter Sr. and Iola (Carter) Allison. He was preceded in death by his brother James Carter, Sr. He was a graduate of West Oso High School in Corpus Christi, TX, and attended Monterey College in Monterey, CA . Paul served two tours in the Vietnam campaign. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Expert Rifle Badge. In 1972, he was Honorably discharged as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. Paul was affiliated with the Masons, serving at the same lodge (James E. Carter Lodge #157 Humble, TX) for over 40 years. He served as 3X Past Master. He later retired from Philip Morris after years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will truly be missed. He had a heart of gold, and was willing to help anyone who was in need. Some of Paul’s favorite ways to pass the time in retirement were fishing with his grandkids, grillin’ and chillin’ and watching his beloved Redskins.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 37 years Rita Carter; two daughters, Ciara Carter Whitaker (Calvin) of Ashburn, VA, and Briahna Carter of Chester, VA; two sons, Joseph Carter of Phoenix, AZ, and Sean Carter of El Paso, TX; Five grandchildren, Valerie Whitaker, Victoria Whitaker, Kerrington Whitaker, Celina Nicole Carter, Johahn M. Carter; three brothers, Phillip Carter (Sandra) of San Antonio, TX, Alvin Carter (Sherry) of Houston, TX and Wilton Allison (Artilia) of Corpus Christi, TX; four sisters, Ernestine Donahue (William) of Corpus Christi, TX, Erma Marshall (Abraham) of San Antonio, TX, Gloria Jackson (Lewis) of Houston, TX, and Tommie Allison of Houston, TX; three uncles, Robert Foley (Nancy), Robert Davis and Louis Davis (Linda); one aunt, Ardelia Coleman; one sister in-law, Arga Carter; a special nephew, James Carter, Jr. (Crystal) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
