Paul Reid Collier, 62, of Colonial Heights, devoted husband and father, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Ellsworth Gray and Edith Sanford Collier. Reid was a graduate of Richard Bland College and worked for the City of Petersburg Electrical Department for 15 years. After completing training in the electronics field, he worked for Digital Equipment Corporation and Broadband Services at DuPont. He was a member and past Elder of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church and a volunteer member of the Supervisory Committee of Argent Credit Union. Reid had an amazing sense of humor and loved nothing more than to be around other people. He had many talents, including the ability to fix or build anything he set his mind to. In addition to his parents, Reid was preceded in death by a brother, Ellsworth Collier, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce Moody Collier; daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Collier Gregory and husband, Rob of Henrico; brother, Edward “Ned” Collier of Prince George; and his beloved dogs, Susy, Meggie and Katie. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, December 23rd at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, 211 Lynchburg Avenue, Colonial Heights, followed by a funeral service at 3:30 p.m. A service of committal will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Blandford Cemetery.
