Mr. Paul Lambert of Hopewell, Virginia, passed away on February 13, 2012 at the age of 84. He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the son of Jules Francis Lambert and Lucille Gendron Lambert. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Following his service, he attended and graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in chemical engineering. He worked with Allied Chemical in Hopewell from 1952 to 1975. During these years, Paul also was a dedicated volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and active with Saint James Catholic Church where he was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Massey Council 4568. He continued his professional career with firms in Alberta, Canada; North Dakota; and Pennsylvania, before retiring and returning to Hopewell in 1991.
Paul was predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirley Donohoe Lambert; his son, Douglas Michael Lambert; his sister, Denyse Stork; and his brother, Andre Lambert. Paul is survived by his eleven other children: Catherine Lambert Clark (Bruce) of Hopewell; Christine Lambert Wilkinson (Guyton) of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; Stephen Lambert (Deborah) of Monterey; Matthew Lambert (Virginia) of Richmond; Elaine Lambert of Chesterfield; Gregory Lambert (Kathy) of Hammond, Indiana; Robert Lambert (Rodacelle) of Charlotte, North Carolina; Mitchell Lambert (Rose) of Cincinnati, Ohio; Charles Lambert (Heather) of Garden Grove, California; Brian Lambert (Elizabeth) of Monticello, Minnesota; and Paula Lambert of Beaverton, Oregon. He also is survived by two brothers, Peter Lambert of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Michael Lambert of Simi Valley, California, as well as sisters-in-law, Doris Molloy of Lowell, Massachusetts and Mary Lambert of Garden Grove, California.
He was the proud grandfather of Andrew, David and Caryn Clark; Danielle and Jacqueline Lambert; Scott, Kegan and Zachary Saylors; Julia Ledbetter; Kimberly Julian; Stephen, Mark and Gregory Lambert; Melissa Lambert; Kristin and John Lambert; Sean and Alec Hansen; and Benjamin Paul Lambert, born February 10, 2012 â??as well as several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Saint James Catholic Church in Hopewell, Virginia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the church, with Father Frank Wiggins as celebrant. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus 4568 â??Building Fund, Post Office Box 1350, Hopewell, Virginia 23860-1350.
