It is with heavy hearts that we share that Paul F. Rich, 66, passed peacefully from this life on January 1, 2025, in Williamsburg, VA, after a lengthy battle with chronic and terminal illnesses. He was a beloved son, son-in-law, husband, stepDad, Pop Pop, and friend.
Paul was preceded in death by his supportive mother and stepfather. His loving family is left to cherish the happy memories together: his wife and caregiver, Jill Waltersdorff-Rich, stepdaughter Lillian Busch (Joshua), stepson Evan Coryell, and two grandchildren. He will be missed every day.
Paul was a decorated Veteran, having Retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant after serving 24 years as a Practical Nurse. He continued his career as a Govt. contractor in the military medical IT field for another 20 years until his health challenges led to an early retirement.
Paul and his stepfather spent many years hunting together in the mountains of Virginia. He loved all things military and military history. Paul enjoyed science fiction movies and Hallmark Christmas movies but mostly just spending time with his wife, cats, and extended family members. He was a caring man, a dedicated provider for his family, and a quiet companion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Paul's name to one of his favorite charities: Army Emergency Relief or Doctors Without Borders.
