Paul J Simmons 68, of Colonial Heights passed away on February 19, 2004. He was born on May 16, 1935 in Kenly, North Carolina and the son of the late Harry Jackson and Leone Askew Simmons. He is survived by his loving wife, Ingeborg B. Simmons, and three children, Bobbie L. Albert (married to Richard F. Albert, IV), Paul B. Simmons (married to Mary R. Simmons), and Petra D. Grami (married to Faysal Grami). He has also left behind eight grandchildren, Amanda J. Albert, Patrick J. Albert, Richard F. Albert, V, Amir J. Grami, Zacharia A. Grami, Zina M. Grami, Bradley W. Simmons and Brian A. Simmons. He also has a great-grandson, Richard F. Albert, VI. He is survived by five brothers, Harry Simmons and wife Velta of Millington, Tennessee, Fred Simmons and wife Barbara of Hopewell, Virginia, Joe Simmons and wife Jackie of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, John Simmons and wife June of Matoaca, Virginia, Owen Simmons and wife Billie of Hendersonville, Tennessee and was preceded in death by a brother, Linwood Simmons of Belmont, North Carolina and one sister Margaret Mayo of Stantonberg, North Carolina. He has cherished 17 nieces and nephews. He retired after 26 years of meritorious service in the U. S. Army. He was then a dedicated employee at Southside Regional Medical Center for over 16 years and was loved by his co-workers. The family will receive friends Monday, February 23 at the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Petersburg from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted by the Reverend Douglas Forrester on Tuesday, February 24, at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park with military honors.
