Paul Edward Stables, Sr.

Paul Edward Stables, Sr., 86 of Colonial Heights, VA, died March 5, 2022. Born and raised in Narrows, VA, he was the son of the late Amos and Edith Stables. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, devoted to his family and friends. He graduated from Narrows High School and obtained his Accounting Certificate from La Salle University. Paul retired as Manager of Accounting for Stone Container Paper Mill after 40 years of Service, while serving as Manager and Treasurer of the Kraftsman Federal Credit Union. He enjoyed boating and fishing with the grandkids, watching old movies and the Nationals baseball team. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sisters, Wilma Stables and May Powell and brothers Kenneth, Amos, Otis, and Bill Stables. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Kathryn "Kitty" Slusser Stables; daughter, Diane Lanier; sons, Eddie and Scott Stables; brother, Cecil Stables; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Merchants Hope Episcopal Church on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2 PM.
