Paula Jean Vaughan Sweeney

Paula Jean Sweeney, 78, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lucille Vaughan; love of her life, Andrew John Sweeney; and her brother, Joseph Vaughan, Jr. Paula worked at Virginia Abrasives for several years before she worked at Food Lion Distribution Center, where she worked for almost 20 years. She was a member of both the American Legion and Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, playing bingo, and riding the golf cart on poker runs with her family. She made everyone she met feel like part of her family and she never met a stranger. She will be missed and remembered by everyone who knew her. Paula is survived by her children, Lisa Pegram (Grayson), Shelly Kitchen (Carey - "TT"), and the boys - Michael Patterson and his wife, Susan; Shawn Sweeney and his wife; Jacob Sweeney and his wife; and Zachary Sweeney and his wife; grandchildren, Tim Pegram Jr. (Nicole), Crystal Jarrett (Chris), Brandon Kitchen (Samantha), Shelby Elder (Tyler), Angela Singh (Raj), Joseph Kitchen "JP," and the 7 Sweeney grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Angela Burger (Lou), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Dinwiddie, 6616 Boydton Plank Road, where a funeral service will take place the following day in the chapel at 2:00 PM.
