Pearl B. James

Pearl B. James, 100, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Born on May 27, 1917 in Petersburg, VA she was the widow of Howard E. James. Pearl was a long-time member of Second Baptist Church in Petersburg, VA. Mrs. James is survived by a daughter, Ellen Davis and husband, William; one son, Edward James and wife, Susan; four grandchildren, George “Chip” Avery, Christopher Avery and wife, Angel, Amy Viars and husband, Chris and James “Jamie” Avery and wife, Suzanne; and nine great-grandchildren, Haden, Tristan, Casey, Abbey, Lani and Landon Avery, Noah, Avery and Ally Viars. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Lewis, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
