Peggy Chapman Harris

Peggy Chapman Harris, 78, of Hopewell, VA, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018. Born in Saltville, VA, she was one of seven children born to the late Robert Garfield Chapman and Mary Lee Henegar Chapman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Harris, her son, Jeffery Lee Harris, and four of her siblings, Jerry, Jackie, Rita, and Cissy. Mrs. Harris retired from Hopewell Medical Center and attended New Jerusalem Fellowship. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and loved her dog, Jailei. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Harris; grandchildren, Jeffery Wahnon (Ashleigh), Robert Harris, John Harris (Tiffany), and Jimmy Harris; great-grandchildren, Alie and Kaleb; sister, Donna Havens (George); brother, Leroy Chapman (Debbie), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home followed by entombment at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Peggy enjoyed relaxing in her comfy clothes so feel free to dress casual for the visitation and funeral.
