Percy B. Adkins

Percy Bryant Adkins, 78, of Dinwiddie, passed away on February 19, 2013. Born in Mecklenburg Co., VA. he was the son of the late Charlie Lee and Novella Lawrence Adkins; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley R. Adkins. Mr. Adkins was a life long member of Tabernacle Methodist Church in Carson. He is survived by his four children, Diane Williams and husband, Ted, James Adkins and wife, Wanda, Deborah Roddenberry and husband, Danny, and Mark Adkins and companion, Nola; four grandchildren, Danielle Randolph, Amanda Pecht, Jessica Childress, and Travis Adkins; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Hannah Pecht; one brother, Raymond Adkins; and a sister, Eleanor Baird and husband, Jerome. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gene C. Tatum, officiating. Interment will follow in Tabernacle Methodist Church Cemetery.
