Percy Lawrence Childress

Percy Lawrence Childress, 90, of Hopewell, passed away on Wednesday July 27, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flossie Mae Childress; two sisters, and two brothers. Percy served his country proudly in the Navy during WW II, and worked at Food Lion for many years. Percy never met a stranger, was loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughter, Sylvia Jean Childress Sale and her husband, Charles; granddaughters, Sally Pace and her husband, Rick, Deborah Aprahamian and her husband, Mark; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers; extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
