Lawrence Ashton “Pete” Lucy, Sr., 74, of Prince George, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his residence. Pete was a native of Dinwiddie County and retired after 29 years of service to Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company. In 1974, he established Tri-City Wrecker Service in Prince George, which remains a family business today. He was a member of Sycamore United Methodist Church and an avid fox hunter. Pete was preceded in death by his father, Edward Turnbull Lucy, his mother, Pearly Hawkins Lucy, step-mother, Pearl Holt Lucy, and a brother, Charles E. Lucy, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Daniel Lucy; sons, Lawrence Ashton “Pete” Lucy, Jr. and wife, Christi, and Kevin Dale Lucy and wife, Kirstin, all of Prince George; grandchildren, Timothy Alan Lucy and Jenna Michelle Lucy; sister, Alice Westfall and husband, Stan; brothers, Marvin T. Lucy and wife, Mary, and Cecil W. Lucy and wife, Loretta; sisters-in-law, Mary N. Lucy and Helen May and husband, Larry; brother-in-law, Henry Daniel and wife, Gayle, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 14th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
