Peter Herbert

Peter Michael Herbert, age 72, passed away December 14, 2010 in Petersburg, Virginia. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marguerite â??Peggyâ? Gregory Herbert; four daughters, Linda Herbert Saleeby (David) of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Brenda Herbert Emory (Brian) of Church Road, Virginia, Karen Herbert Stone (Lyle) of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Sheila Herbert Wall (Brad) of Chester, Virginia; a son, Michael Herbert of Phoenix, Arizona; twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol Herbert Leta of Lakewood, New Jersey, and Cathy Herbert Anderson, of Michigan. He is preceded in death by his parents, H. Palmer Herbert and Alma M. Herbert, and his brother, Jerome Palmer Herbert.

Peter Herbert was born in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. He graduated in 1956 from Point Pleasant Beach High School. He was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged in 1959. He worked at NCR Corporation for seventeen years, and was most recently joint owner of Peggyâ??s Florist and Floral Tributes for the last twenty-five years. He was a private pilot and enjoyed traveling. Mr. Herbert was a member of the Point Pleasant, New Jersey Elks Club, and also a member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge.
