Phillip Steven Arnold, 80 years old, of Chester, Virginia, died March 7th, 2022. Born in Tennessee, he was raised in several areas of Tennessee and Virginia. He was the son of late Pastor George Arnold and Foy Wright Arnold. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He graduated from Rocky Mount High school and studied Forestry at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He joined the Army reserve for several years, eventually moving to Chesterfield, Virginia. He was a hardworking man within the manufacturing industry, much of that time being a respected supervisor. He was a devout Christian and active member of the local Methodist church. An avid sportsman, he loved hunting, fishing, camping, riding, and gardening. He loved spending quality time with his family and never hesitated to be there for anyone when the need arose. Mr. Arnold was known to friends and family as patient, kind, funny, devoted, and always ready to help. In addition to his parents, Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his brother, George Arnold Jr.; his younger brother, David Arnold and wife, Sheila Arnold, of Jonesborough, TN. He is survived by his wife, Anna Arnold; son, Phillip Michael Arnold and his wife, Amy, of Powhatan, VA; grandchildren, Samuel and Ryan; son, Steven Preston Arnold and his wife, Susan, of Powhatan, VA; grandchildren, Ella and Kinsley; son, Adam Jeffrey Arnold and his wife, Amanda, of Buckingham, VA; grandchildren, Gabriel and Greyson. He is survived by his sister, Audrey Arnold Burnette and her husband, Leon, of Fancy Gap, VA; sister, Hilda Arnold Fletcher and her husband, Gordan, of Tappahannock, VA; sister, Patricia Lynn Arnold of Palm Beach, FL. In regards to his wife's family, he is preceded in death by mother-in-law, Herta Messina, of Colonial Heights, VA. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Karin Messina, of Colonial Heights, VA; brother-in-law, Roland Messina, of Disputana, VA. He also is survived by countless loving nieces and nephews.
