Philip Reid Hodges, 83, of Petersburg, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Saunders Hodges and Madeline Delvaux Andrews. Philip proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a real estate broker and builder for over forty years. He was a U.S. Patent holder inventing the EZ Gauge Masonry Spacer. In his early years he held a speed record at Richmond Drag Strip with his Studebaker. He was an avid car enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Peggy M. Hodges; son, Raymond Hodges; daughter, Debbie A. Hawkins; two grandsons, Forrest C. Pearson and Spencer R. Wray; and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 7, 2016 at Blandford Cemetery.
