Philip Wayne Long, 68, of Spring Grove passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008 at MCV. Born in Petersburg on January 12, 1940, he was the son of Mrs. Clyde Stockner Long and the late Roy Long.
He was a graduate of Prince George High school and he served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a retired small engine repair mechanic and he worked at Standard James Shoe Repair with his father and son in Petersburg for over 40 years. He was the lead singer with the band â??Wayne and the Aggressorsâ? and an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife of six years and his best friend, Belinda Kay Ellis Long; his mother, Clyde Stockner Long; two sons, Philip Long and his wife Lisa, Randy Reeson; a daughter, Julie Helmer and husband, Howard; a sister, Joyce Lukomski and husband John; a mother-in-law, Madelyn Ellis; nine grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his great friend Robert Lee.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 2:00pm at Salem United Methodist Church in Spring Grove with Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. The family is being served by J.T.
